A Spokane IT company acts as your outside IT department for a monthly fee. It answers your staff's help-desk requests, keeps computers and accounts updated and secure, runs Microsoft 365 and your backups, and plans upgrades with you. All seven firms we reviewed cover the help desk, cybersecurity and Microsoft 365. The differences show up in 24/7 security monitoring, compliance, AI and support for in-house IT staff.
That's the short answer. The rest of this page breaks down what a typical plan covers, what usually costs extra, and what to check in the contract.

A managed IT plan in one line
You’re hiring an outside IT department, not a repair service you call when something breaks.
The firm monitors your systems and applies updates on a schedule, rather than only reacting to calls.
You pay a flat monthly fee, usually per user, instead of by the hour.
Big one-off jobs, like an office move or a server replacement, are usually quoted separately.
Day-to-day support vs project work
Most of what you pay for each month is ongoing work: answering help-desk tickets, applying security updates, managing user accounts, watching for threats and checking that backups run. That’s what the per-user fee covers.
Project work is different. Moving to the cloud, setting up a new office, replacing a server or rolling out new laptops is usually quoted as a separate job or billed by the hour. Directory listings put hourly IT work in Spokane at about $50 to $199 an hour.
What Spokane IT companies offer
We checked the websites of the seven IT service providers in Spokane we reviewed for each service. “Dedicated page” means the service has its own page with real detail. “Mentioned” means it appears only in a list or a paragraph.

What usually costs extra
24/7 cover. Three of the seven firms claim a 24/7 help desk. At the others, after-hours help comes on request or on a top plan.
Advanced security. Only three firms have dedicated pages for round-the-clock monitoring and penetration testing, and a fourth mentions them. It pays to ask whether a firm runs these itself or resells a partner’s service. See which Spokane IT companies run 24/7 security monitoring.
Compliance work. Most firms price HIPAA, PCI, CMMC or SOC 2 support separately.
Projects and hardware. New laptops, network gear, cloud migrations and office moves are usually quoted on their own.
Software licenses. Microsoft 365 and some security tools may be billed on top of the plan.
What to check in the contract
Get the service list in writing. Ask exactly which services, users and devices the monthly fee covers.
Ask about hours and response times. Only two of the seven firms publish a response-time number, so get one in writing.
Ask who does the work. Find out which services the firm handles with its own staff and which it passes to partners.
Plan your exit. Ask how you get passwords, documentation and data back if you leave. Three of the seven firms offer month-to-month or no long-term contracts.
A Spokane IT company is your outside IT department: help desk, security, Microsoft 365 and backups for a monthly fee. Every firm we reviewed covers those basics. Compare firms on the extras you actually need, such as 24/7 monitoring, compliance help or support for an in-house IT person, and get the service list in writing.
